Adventure #1: Getting here, PHX-->LONDON-->CAIRO.

I'm here and I am in love.

The plane ride was better than expected, it may or may not have been the anxiety medication, but I'll take it!  I had a pleasant experience with a charming young British fellow who kept giving me yummy candies and moral support when the plane hit turbulance.  After 24 hours (and more) of the Phoenix airport, trying to sleep in between 2 men on an overnight flight to London, then sleeping in the Heathrow airport like a bum, to my wonderful flight to Cairo on an aisle all by myself, I finally arrived into the arms of my boy.  It was grand!

My first day was SUPER BUSY.  I slept in until noon-ish, but we didn't get to sleep until close to 330am, so noon was a totally acceptable time to wake up!  I had my first Arabic class, my first falafel, and my first taste of Upper Class Cairo when we got FREE tickets to see the Opera, "Carmen" at the Cairo Opera House.

Everyone I have met has been so generous and kind, and I have felt very comfortable and safe the whole time I've been here.
I think I've already fallen hard for you, Cairo.

Tomorrow our group is taking a day trip to Alexandria and I could not be more excited!

Until next time,
Your little world Traveller,
Megs.

p.s.  I'm having a hard time uploading photos onto blogger :/  I will keep trying, but here's one for now....
